About the Author
The Author was born in Australia but spent her school years in England, returning to Australia at age 18. After being inspired by a book on personal growth, she decided to study psychology. Upon graduating from the prestigious University of Queensland, Pippa worked for the Queensland Corrective Services Commission as a probation and parole officer before settling into a private practice in the western suburbs of Brisbane. Pippa's clients tended to be women experiencing marriage problems and divorce and her specialty became honed toward helping people navigate through relationship transitions and the personal growth opportunities which present themselves in such situations. After trying to employ the silent therapist model, in which clients are supposed to figure out their own solutions to their problems, Pippa found that many people lacked direction and, with a few simple insights and suggestions, could very quickly and easily change the dynamic in their relationships. This book is a collection of some of the most basic ideas she explained to clients over 17 years as she transitioned from a traditional model to a more coaching oriented approach which yield results more quickly and with less prolonged pain for clients. "How to Change a Man Without His Permission - Discover the Pyramid of Change" is Pippa's first book intended to be a primer for women who are struggling to experience the love and pleasure they desire in relation to a man. Oh my goodness, I wish I'd read this book before sending that last email to my son's father....actually, before getting married....actually, when I was 16! In every chapter, there's something new of value that makes me respond 'Of course!!". It all seems like such common sense, that I must have known before.... but didn't. This is a 'must read' for every woman, the younger the better and especially if you grew up in a family full of girls, like I did. It's written in a simple, straightforward style with easy to digest examples, analogies and case studies with a simple summary at the end of every chapter. There are some stereotypes along the way that can grate if you're not typical in that way, but really, it's just necessary to demonstrate the principles at hand and how to navigate the world of masculine - feminine communication and interaction. Thank you Pippa!! I can't wait to read your next book.
